Good to know

Getting thereEastern shore of Lake Champlain, about 10 minutes from Burlington International Airport (BTV). A car is preferred for gear; paid parking at Waterfront Park or Leddy Beach municipal lots. Leddy Park or North Beach give the primary, clean launch zones.
HazardsImmediate deep-water drop-offs and a rocky pebble shoreline need careful footwork during launches. Watch for sudden wind shadows near tree-lined bluffs, and expect real turbulence and gusts during strong NW frontal systems.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when regional S or NW winds blow cleanly down the lake valley axis. Summer afternoons are most reliable when frontal wind gets a slight thermal boost from the warm inland Vermont fields.
