Getting thereNorthwestern Lanzarote, about 30 minutes from Arrecife Airport (ACE) via the LZ-20 and LZ-402. A car is needed; free parking along the dirt tracks parallel to the sand dunes. The northern, wide sandy stretch away from the village houses is the primary launch.
HazardsThe spectacular crescent bay is bordered by massive vertical cliffs generating real wind shadows and sudden shifts close to shore. Faces the open Atlantic with a genuine shorebreak, strong longshore current, and a heavy concentration of surf schools in the shallows.
Best time of dayAfternoon, May-August, when NE trades combine with local thermal drawing for a clean cross-onshore blow into the bay. Late afternoon gives the most reliable strength as morning surf lineups thin out.
