A second launch on Gökçeada, a short way from Aydıncık, for when the island's relentless Meltemi needs a quieter stretch of beach.

Getting thereSouthern coast of Gökçeada island — a domestic flight or drive to Kabatepe ferry port, then a 1.5-hour car-ferry crossing. A car is absolutely required for the unpaved desert terrain tracks to Eşelek Beach; abundant free off-road parking on the dirt bluffs. The wide sandy beach contours give primary access.
HazardsAn open sea setting with a moderate shorebreak and real longshore current dragging riders downwind. Genuinely forgiving given the wide sandy expanses, but there's no structured rescue boat service on this wild stretch of coast.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when regional Meltemi patterns get reinforced by a strong thermal engine off the island's salt flats. Mid-afternoon gives the most reliable wind and cleaner cross-onshore tracking, away from the early morning calm.
