Getting thereCádiz province, about 45 minutes south of Jerez Airport (XRY) or 1.5 hours from Sevilla via the A-48. A car is essential; free and paid dirt lots directly behind the beachfront surf shacks. The wide beach away from the central restaurant zone is the primary access.
HazardsA premier Atlantic surf beach with a real, heavy shorebreak and genuine rip current during high swell. Kitesurfing is tightly restricted and practically banned during summer swim months due to crowds — autumn and spring are the real riding windows here.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the Poniente (westerly) blows cleanly cross-onshore into the bay. Increases post-midday as thermal gradients reinforce it, clearing the nearshore surf line.
