Getting thereAbout 2 hours from Dalaman Airport (DLM), by car via a winding mountain peninsula highway or a 1.5-hour car ferry from Bodrum. Free and paid parking along the coastal harbor road or at surf center bays. The primary launch is near the dedicated wind sports hotels west of town center.
HazardsHighly complex mountain topography causes real, sudden wind shifts and severe gust pockets close to shore. Launch and landing space is tightly constrained by stone breakwaters, fishing nets, and deep water close to shore — genuinely poor for true beginners.
Best time of dayMidday to afternoon, when the Meltemi gets heavily compressed and thermally accelerated through the volcanic mountain gaps of the Datça peninsula. Regularly screaming past 25-30kt — world-class, dense conditions for expert riders.
