A bohemian beach town by Cabo de Trafalgar, sharing El Palmar's Atlantic swell and Levante wind with a wilder, cliff-backed stretch of coast.

Getting thereCádiz province, about 50 minutes south of Jerez Airport (XRY) via the coastal road from Vejer. A car is required; paid dirt lots next to the Trafalgar lighthouse or along the streets, though spaces disappear fast during high wind. The sandy beach loop near the Apartamentos Turísticos is the main access.
HazardsA sharp, shallow rocky reef ledge runs close to shore — a real hazard for fins and feet at mid-to-low tide. Avoid this entirely during strong Levante (easterly) storms — wind blows violently at 30+kt side-shore, creating massive, chaotic wave breaks over the reef.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when the Levante tracks cleanly across the point, amplified by thermal building along the hot Andalusian interior. Time sessions with high tide to clear the rocks safely.
