Getting thereAsh Sharqiyah South Governorate, mainland Oman, about 3h15 from Muscat International Airport. A standard car reaches the main village road, but a 4x4 helps carry gear onto the sandy tracts; free off-road parking is plentiful. The open beach south of the small fishing harbor is the primary entry.
HazardsFaces the open Arabian Sea with a real, heavy shorebreak and genuine rip current. Watch for the fast transition to deep water and large numbers of traditional fishing skiffs anchored in the shallows โ no public rescue boat service here.
Best time of dayAfternoon, June-September, when the edge of the Southwest Monsoon brings cool, dense wind and big rolling swell. Peaks post-midday as thermal gradients reinforce it, past the calm mornings.
