🇩🇪 Außenalster – Alstervorland
Germany · Europe · All Germany spots →
Hamburg pumps in the middle of the city. The scene dock sits by Café AlsterCliff on the western shore, and 400 m north is the Alstervorland landing stage — the one place the city marks as an official low put-in on the Außenalster, free and open. Water skiing, windsurfing and kitesurfing are banned across the whole Hamburg port area and the Alster with it; a muscle-powered board is not named in either ban, so treat pumping as tolerated rather than permitted. Get in and out only at the marked stage, keep 5 m off the reed and biotope zones, and give way to the passenger boats. The city advises against swimming in the Alster, which is worth knowing before you fall in.
