Getting thereWestern coast of Algiers near Staoueli, about 35 minutes from Houari Boumediene International Airport (ALG). A car or taxi is required; paid and free street parking along the Palm Beach resort access tracks. The sandy beachfront gives the primary launch.
HazardsHeavily congested with local swimmers and jet skis in summer, leaving little legal launch space. Watch for concrete resort retaining walls and old metal pipes hidden just beneath the surface close to shore.
Best time of dayAfternoon, when winter cold fronts or standard trades align with local thermal cycles for a clean NW cross-onshore blow. Post-midday gives the most reliable wind away from morning swimming crowds.
