Good to know

Getting thereAbout 1.5 hours north of Perth via Indian Ocean Drive. A car is completely mandatory; free asphalt parking at the end of Grace Darling Ridge or behind the local surf club. The wide beach inside the protected marine bay is the primary launch.
HazardsAn outer reef shelf creates flat water inside the bay, but low tide exposes shallow coral heads and sharp rock structures that can catch fins and foils. Summer wind density is genuinely extreme โ€” cross-shore breeze can exceed 30kt, generating large rolling chop.
Best time of dayAfternoon, November-March, when the legendary WA 'Sea Breeze' (Southerly Buster) kicks in like clockwork and blows cleanly cross-shore. After 1pm gives the thermal time to stabilize across the shallow basins.
