Good to know

Getting thereLocated along the Serrekunda tourist strip, roughly a 30-minute drive from Banjul International Airport (BJL). A car or local green tourist taxi is preferred for transporting gear, with parking available in the dirt lots behind the main resort gates or along the Senegambia highway access tracks. The wide sandy beach stretch directly in front of the beachfront hotels offers the primary launch.
HazardsThe beach drops off into deep water very quickly, generating a powerful, heavy shorebreak during high tide cycles. Inexperienced riders must be highly cautious of strong open-ocean rip currents, high summer concentrations of swimmers, and the complete lack of dedicated public marine safety or kite rescue infrastructure.
Best time of dayAfternoon, from November to May, when the northwesterly trade winds are thermally accelerated by the baking heat of the Gambian landmass. The wind typically stabilizes after 14:00, delivering a steady cross-onshore breeze that blows the nearshore surf line clean.
