Getting thereLimnos Island, about 20 minutes from Lemnos International Airport (LXS) via unpaved dirt tracks. A car is required for this remote bay; free dirt parking under the trees behind the dunes. The northern end of the wide crescent bay has the cleanest flat-water access.
HazardsA safe sand bottom overall, but wind can turn cross-offshore on the northern side โ flat water, but a real drifting risk. Stay within the marked school zones on the central beach, wear booties for occasional sea urchins, and watch for local windsurf schools crossing the bay.
Best time of dayMorning through afternoon, May-September, when the Meltemi blows with real consistency. The northern corner stays flattest early in the day; the southern section develops rolling chop good for intermediate freeriders.
