Getting thereSarnia, Ontario, at the mouth of the St. Clair River, about 1 hour west of London via Highway 402. A car is preferred for gear; free asphalt parking in the large municipal lots inside Canatara Park. The wide beachfront near the point gives immediate access.
HazardsSits directly adjacent to the active Blue Water Bridge shipping channel — genuinely violent river current here can pull a rider toward the international boat lanes between Canada and the US. Stay well clear of the river mouth boundary, and avoid riding in strong northerly wind, which brings a real freshwater shorebreak.
