Good to know

Getting thereBrač Island — a 1-hour public car-ferry from Split to Supetar, then a 40-minute drive via the D113. A car or local water taxi is required for gear; large paid municipal lots under the pine trees right behind Zlatni Rat beach. Staging is limited to the specialized, regulated wind sports launch on the windward side of the horn.
HazardsExtreme crowding, with thousands of swimmers, windsurfers, and watercraft packing the narrow gravel horn in summer. Watch for the wind turning strongly offshore at the tip of the spit — flat water, but a real drifting risk into the deep, high-traffic Hvar Channel, with no free rescue services.
Best time of dayAfternoon, May-September, when the northerly Maestral funnels reliably through the Hvar Channel with a strong thermal boost. Around 1pm optimizes the window as the breeze stabilizes into predictable side-shore tracking.
