Getting thereBazaruto Archipelago — a flight to Vilankulo Airport (VNX), then a 20-30 minute luxury speedboat or helicopter transfer to the island. No cars on the island; all travel is on foot, staging directly from the sandy flats lining the remote island resorts. All gear travels by boat.
HazardsA genuinely extreme tidal range exposes sharp coral reef flats and sandbanks at dead low tide. Strong upwind riding skill matters — wind can blow strongly side-offshore over the outer channels, generating real tidal current with zero public rescue infrastructure.
