Good to know

Getting thereToronto's east end via Lakeshore Boulevard East, then south on Ashbridges Bay Park Road. A car is recommended; the public boat launch lot fills early on hot weekends and enforces paid parking. The sandy zone east of the main boat ramps is the cleanest spot to lay out gear.
HazardsBordered by rock breakwaters, concrete launch walls in poor repair, and a heavily used public boat ramp with constant motor traffic. Little shallow standing water, and shorebreak can push riders back into shoreline rocks in strong onshore wind. Keep a strict buffer from swimmers and volleyball courts per local rules.
Best time of daySpring and fall afternoons, when cool easterly or SW storm fronts funnel across the open lake โ€” also the best way to avoid beach crowding and parking enforcement.
