Good to know

Getting thereSouthern tip of the island, about 10 minutes south of Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI). A car is preferred for gear; free gravel parking right behind the beach at Silver Sands Park. The launch pocket directly in front of the local deAction Beach Shop is the primary access.
HazardsFaces the open Atlantic with a real, heavy onshore shorebreak, big rolling wave sets, and genuine lateral rip along the outer barrier reef. Body-dragging past the breakers can be a real physical struggle — stay well clear of the sharp fossilized coral rock ledges downwind.
Best time of dayMid-morning through late afternoon, December-June, when strong Atlantic trades blow continuously at peak strength. Stable all day — arrive early for beach space before the daily windsurf and kite crowds.
