Getting thereCrissy Field East Beach parking (Presidio / Golden Gate National Recreation Area). Park toward the western end of the lot for the preferred launch. Busy; arrive early on weekends.
HazardsExpert-only conditions. Strong tidal currents (flood can push east toward rocks; ebb can sweep toward the Golden Gate). Gusty, side-offshore wind near shore that often dies on the inside. Heavy boat traffic. Launch west of the bathrooms and get off the beach quickly; families and windsurfers have priority.
