Good to know

Getting thereAbout 1.5-2 hours west of Panama City via the Pan-American Highway, then the narrow Chame peninsula road. A car is necessary; free parking directly on the sand or at kite resorts like Panama Kite Center. The main access is the sandy spit at the tip of the peninsula.
HazardsA genuine 4-5 meter tidal range dramatically reshapes the shoreline, exposing shallow sandbanks and sharp shell beds at low tide. Watch for real tidal current, and shuffle your feet — small stingrays are commonly buried in the shallow sand here.
Best time of dayAll day, December-April, when northerly trades blow with real consistency across the peninsula. Afternoons are especially stable as the wind aligns with daily thermal draw over the warm Pacific bay.
