Libreville's established local kite spot on the Gabon Estuary, between the airport and the city — a first-hand account from a local rider confirms this as the actual go-to launch. Wind here runs genuinely light most of the time; big gear is standard.

Good to know

Getting thereWithin Libreville city, about 15 minutes south of Libreville International Airport (LBV). A car or city taxi is useful for gear; free parking along the unpaved coastal road. The sandy beach curves near the local sailing hub give the cleanest access.
HazardsHighly variable water depth with hidden rocks, real wind shadows from coastal structures, and heavy debris during the rainy season. Strong upwind riding skill matters to avoid getting dragged into industrial shipping lanes or local fishing boat docks.
Best time of dayLate afternoon, when the SW thermal builds cleanly against the hot Central African coastline. Usually on by 2pm, giving wide, clean, side-onshore paths with minimal wave interference inside the bay.
