Good to know

Getting thereFly into Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), then a 2.5-hour drive via the Dau Giay-Phan Thiet expressway. A car or private shuttle works best for arrival, with scooters for getting around locally; free parking at beachfront resorts and kite schools along Nguyen Dinh Chieu street. Established schools at the southern end of the bay are the best access points.
HazardsThe bay has a genuinely heavy shorebreak and large rolling waves that can crush gear and overwhelm inexperienced swimmers. Wind turns pure shore-parallel with a hard shore-dump shorebreak in the main zone โ€” technical and tiring to actually learn in, not a gentle beginner setup despite being listed as 'All levels.' Fishing nets and debris are common underwater near shore.
Best time of day11am-5pm, November-March, when the NE monsoon delivers a relentless thermal often over 25-30kt. Avoid high tide if you want dry sand for launching and landing.
