Getting thereOnly reachable by a 20-30 minute private boat or water taxi charter from the docks in Abu Dhabi — no roads or bridges to the island. Staging is directly from the pristine sandy flats lining the inside sandbars. Zero facilities or public amenities on the island.
HazardsThe inside lagoon has genuinely flat water but drops into deep navigation channels with real tidal current. Competent upwind steering matters to avoid getting dragged into active boat lanes — watch for hidden sandbar drop-offs and sharp shell beds at low tide.
Best time of dayAfternoon, November-April, when dominant NW winds blow flawlessly side-shore along the peninsula sand spit. The thermal engine peaks post-midday for the cleanest, most reliable wind density over the flat lagoon.
