Getting thereSouthern coast of Benin, about 1.5 hours west of Cotonou Cadjehoun Airport (COO) via the coastal highway. A car is required; free parking directly on the sand behind local beachfront eco-lodges and restaurants. The expansive shoreline gives an infinite, unobstructed rigging and launching area.
HazardsAn open Atlantic setting with a real, dumping shorebreak and genuine undercurrent that can drain energy fast. True beginners should avoid this beach entirely — deep water starts instantly, shore waves develop rapidly, and there's no dedicated public marine safety or rescue infrastructure.
