Good to know

Getting thereSoutheastern tip of Aruba, about 35 minutes from Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA). A car is completely mandatory for this remote coast; free dirt parking right next to the white sand dunes. The wide, open crescent bay gives an infinite, unobstructed launch and rigging area.
HazardsAn open ocean setting with a real onshore shorebreak and genuine lateral current sweeping riders downwind along the outer reef line. Genuinely forgiving given the pure sand bottom, but past the nearshore shallows a gear malfunction drags you toward the open Caribbean with no organized rescue boats.
Best time of dayMid-morning through late afternoon, December-August, when strong Atlantic trades blow continuously at peak strength. Stable all day — arrive early to secure beach space before the daily training groups arrive.
