Good to know

Getting thereFly into Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International (MRU) and drive 45-60 minutes southwest along the B9 coastal road. A car is recommended; free parking at the C Beach Club or public beach access lots. Best entry is the wide sandy beach in front of the local kite centers.
HazardsThe inner lagoon has shallow coral heads, stones, sharp shells, and sea urchins โ€” real injury risk if you stand up carelessly. Wear booties and stay under school supervision if inexperienced, especially since low tide exposes the reef structures. Advanced riders should watch for strong currents in the outer reef passes.
Best time of dayMid-to-high tide for safe clearance over the shallow coral patches. Wind turns on reliably mid-morning through afternoon, blowing as a consistent trade wind April-November.
